Local Greek Council to sponsor quarterly Mixer
Third Thursday is a series of events for Black professionals

Greenville, SC: The Greater Greenville National Pan Hellenic Council (NPHC) is planning to sponsor a series of quarterly mixers. The series of mixers, which will be called "Third Thursdays", will be held quarterly at various locations. Representatives from most of the local NHPC groups will be in attendance with membership and reclamation information.

However, council members are quick to point out that they are not trying to just have an All-Greek mixer. "This is not just Greeks or those seeking to be Greek. This is our attempt to encourage networking among black professionals. The Upstate Area is in need of a gathering point for our urban professional community", said David Mitchell, President of the Upstate Council. "We hope to grow this event to include more points of interest".

The First "Third Thursday"Event will be scheduled from 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM, at the Hyatt Regency, in Downtown Greenville. Heavy hors d'oeuvres and a Cash bar will be available.

The National Pan Hellenic Council (NPHC), headquartered at Indiana University, is an organization of the nine historically black Greek fraternities and sororities in the nation. Members of Council include: Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc. and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. The Greenville NPHC is the local council covering the Upstate of South Carolina.
