2008 FOUNDERS' DAY ACTIVITIES
GGL Celebrates Founders Day with Upstate Events
GREENVILLE, SC: December 4, 2008 marked the 102nd anniversary
of the founding of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. To mark this
historic milestone in the history of our great Fraternity, the
Gamma Gamma Lambda chapter participated in several founder’s
day celebrations.
First, Gamma Gamma Lambda chapter served as the host chapter
for the Third annual Area I Founder’s Day dinner held at
the Holiday Inn @ I-85 Thursday, December 4th at 7:06 pm. More
than
Thirty brothers
from several Upstate chapters attended the dinner which replicated
the 1st initiation banquet meal. Brothers ate, fellowshipped,
and gave positive reflections on their many years in Alpha. Most
notable event of the evening was the attendance of newly initiated
charter members from Upsilon Alpha as well as the marking of
the 50th Anniversary in Alpha of Bro. Cheatham from Rho Delta
Lambda. Each brother in attendance topped the evening off with
a rededication ceremony.
