GGL to host 97th Founders 'Day Observance & Celebration for the Upstate

GREENVILLE, SC: Gamma Gamma Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. will host 97th Founder's Observance and Celebration at the Shady Oak Baptist Church, 1111 White Horse Road. Services will start at 9:45 AM and the speaker for the event is Rev. Dr. Ronald Barton, Pastor of Shady Oak Baptist Church of Greenville SC. Dr. Barton is member of Alpha Phi Alpha initiated at Morris Brown College in 1983.

All Upstate Brothers, their families and others fellow Greeks are cordially invited to participate in program which will end with a Fellowship Dinner from 1-3 PM following the services at Holiday Inn on Exit 46 on I-85.

Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. was founded on December 4, 1906 on the campus of Cornell University in Ithaca, NY, by seven men referred as the "Jewels" of the Fraternity: Henry Arthur Callis, Charles Henry Chapman, Eugene Kinckle Jones, George Biddle Kelley, Nathaniel Allison Murray, Robert Harold Ogle, and Vertner Woodson Tandy. Alpha Phi Alpha has more than 750 chapters worldwide with over 100,000 members. Gamma Gamma Lambda Chapter is the Greenville, SC chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha chartered in 1941.
