Greenville, SC: Gamma Gamma
Lambda was proud to participate in WalkAmerica held at Greenville
Technical College on April 24. The Chapter
raised more than $2000 and is well on it's way to keeping our 1st
place status. Last year, Gamma Gamma raised the most funds of any
Alpha Chapter in the District of South Carolina.
Bro. Rudy Simmons, our 2004 Team Captain, did
an outstanding job leading the chapter’s WalkAmerica efforts
despite a late start. This year
marks the sixth year GGL has participated locally in WalkAmerica.
At
this point, GGL has practically double the efforts from last
year which we collected approximately $1300. Brothers
can still turn in funds for Walk-America.
March of Dimes and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. have national
partnership for more than 20 years. The supported event, called
Project Alpha, is a day-long seminar which illustrates to give
young males,
especially African-American males, the importance of being sexual
responsible. Gamma Gamma Lambda has conducted a Project Alpha
Seminar for last seven years.
